Find a place

Tap Search (⌘F on the Mac) and type a place, an address or a landmark. Apple Maps suggests matches as you type. Choose one and the map moves there with an orange marker. Searching never adds a point.

To place a point at a known position, choose Add Point at Coordinates… in the + menu (⇧⌘A on the Mac) and type or paste the coordinate. The form shows it in decimal and in DMS once it understands it, and Add places the point.
