Import and export
Import
Section titled “Import”Choose Import… (More menu, or File › Import… ⌘I on the Mac) and pick one or more files, or drop files on the map. Their shapes join the current document, in one undoable step.
- Geo Measure documents: .geomeasure files from any version, and the older Geo Measure for Mac’s .measure files.
- GeoJSON (.geojson, .json): polygons become areas (outer ring), lines become distances, a point with a radius property becomes a circle. Names come from a name or title property.
- KML: polygons become areas, line strings distances, a point with a radius in its extended data a circle.
- GPX: every track and route becomes a distance.
Export
Section titled “Export”Choose Export (More menu, or File › Export on the Mac). Each format covers every shape.
- GeoJSON: the document itself, for QGIS and anything that reads GeoJSON, with each shape’s values in metres.
- KML: for Google Earth, one placemark per shape in its colour, with its number in the description.
- CSV: one row per point: shape, kind, value, unit, point, latitude, longitude, segment_length_m, bearing_deg. A circle is one row with its centre and radius.
- GPX: areas and distances as routes; a circle as a waypoint at its centre.
- PNG Image: a 1200 × 900 picture of every shape on the current map style, the selected shape’s points numbered, with up to four shapes’ numbers in a corner.
- PDF Report: see below.
Share sends a picture of the map as you see it, with a short text of each shape’s number, and the totals when there is more than one shape.
