Geo Measure Pro

Geo Measure is free. Every file holds one complete measurement, an area, a distance or a circle, with everything Geo Measure can do to it. Geo Measure Pro is one purchase in the app that puts more measurements in the same file, prints the report, exports for Google Earth, GPS units and spreadsheets, and measures a boundary as you walk it.

One measurement in each file: an area, a distance or a circle, drawn with Add Points or Freehand, moved, bent and undone as often as you like. See Draw shapes.
Routing along roads and paths: Walking, Cycling and Driving, with the travel time.
The points table: typing and pasting coordinates, nudging, Copy as CSV.
Every unit, Find a Place, Add Point at Coordinates… and Add My Location.

With Pro

More measurements in the same file: New Area, New Distance and New Circle in a file that already holds one, a tap on the empty map that would start a second shape, and Import… or a file dropped on the map. See Several measurements in one file and Layers.

A measurement is a shape with at least one point. An empty shape is not one: without Pro, starting a new shape replaces an empty one, and deleting the file’s measurement leaves room for a new one. Undo and Redo never ask for Pro.

Where Pro asks

What needs Pro is marked while you do not have it: (Pro) after the menu item (New Area (Pro), KML (Pro), Walk the Boundary (Pro), Track My Position (Pro)), Print… (Pro) and Save PDF… (Pro) in the print sheet, and a Pro tag on Walk the Boundary on the start screen.

Choosing one opens the Geo Measure Pro screen. It never opens by itself. It lists what Pro adds, an Unlock for button with the price in your App Store currency (one purchase, no subscription), Restore Purchases, and the Terms and Privacy links. With Ask to Buy it says it is waiting for approval, and Pro unlocks by itself when the approval arrives.

Once bought, what you asked for carries on: the new shape starts, the point you tapped is added, the export or the print goes ahead, the walk begins. Close the screen without buying and nothing changes.

Buying and restoring

Settings: the first section is Geo Measure Pro. It says Unlocked, or offers Unlock Geo Measure Pro… and Restore Purchases. On iPhone and iPad, Settings › About shows it again.
On the Mac: Geo Measure › Unlock Geo Measure Pro…, right below About Geo Measure, opens the Geo Measure Pro window (on macOS 14 it opens Settings, where Pro comes first). About Geo Measure says whether Pro is unlocked.
Everywhere you use it: the purchase belongs to your Apple Account and is shared with your family through Family Sharing. Geo Measure’s Pro covers iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro. Geo Measure for Mac, the Mac-only edition, has a Pro of its own for all your Macs; a purchase in one edition does not unlock the other.
On a new device, or after reinstalling, tap Restore Purchases.

Bought Geo Measure before it became free?

Then Pro is yours. Geo Measure asks the App Store whether your Apple Account bought the app before it became free, and when the answer is yes, Pro is unlocked for good and Settings says “Pro is included with your earlier purchase. Thank you.” While it asks, the Pro screen says “Checking for an earlier purchase of Geo Measure…” instead of showing a price. If the App Store cannot be asked (no connection, not signed in), the screen says so and leads with Restore Purchases: tap it once you are online.

This covers both editions: an earlier purchase of Geo Measure unlocks Pro in Geo Measure, and an earlier purchase of Geo Measure for Mac unlocks Pro in Geo Measure for Mac.
